Got Questions?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about Aussie Wind Wall products, setup, shipping, and more.
How long does setup take?
Most customers have their CampWall set up in 5 minutes. The poles slide into sleeves and the pegs hammer straight into the ground using a mallet or impact driver
Will it work on sand?
Yes. CampWall Pro and CampWall Flex work great on sand when paired with the right sand pegs, which are available separately. For beach use, we recommend using dedicated sand pegs for the best stability. Beach Mate includes everything you need straight out of the bag, simply mallet the poles into the sand.
How much wind can it handle?
CampWall Pro and Flex are tested to 45km/h winds. Beach Mate handles typical coastal breezes with ease. All products are designed for real Australian conditions.
Is CampWall worth the investment?
We certainly believe so, but it depends on how you camp.
If you only head away once or twice a year in perfect weather, a basic windbreak may be enough. But if you regularly camp in coastal winds, open campgrounds or changing conditions, CampWall is designed to help you spend more time enjoying your campsite instead of fighting the weather.
Every detail has been designed with camping in mind—from the materials and construction through to the way each product sets up and adapts to different campsites.
CampWall Pro is built in Australia using premium canvas for campers who want maximum durability and protection. CampWall Flex offers a lighter, more versatile option with built-in organisation, privacy and multiple setup configurations.
For us, it's not just about buying a windbreak. It's about creating a campsite you'll actually want to spend time in. That's why our motto is simple:
Create the Zone.
What's the difference between CampWall Pro and Flex?
Both are designed to create a more comfortable campsite, but they serve different needs.
CampWall Pro
Australian made from heavy-duty canvas.
Maximum wind protection and durability.
Ideal for frequent campers and harsh conditions.
Available in 3-panel and 4-panel options. Tested in 60KPH winds.
CampWall Flex
Lightweight 4-panel design.
Built from 220gsm TC ripstop fabric.
More than a windbreak, with integrated storage pockets, drying straps, privacy panels and multiple setup configurations.
Packs smaller and adapts to different needs. Tested in 55KPH winds.
Not sure which is right for you?
Choose Pro if you want the toughest, most durable windbreak for demanding conditions. Choose Flex if you want a versatile, lightweight camping system that combines wind protection, privacy and campsite organisation.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on all CampWall and Beach Mate products. Pegs and selected accessories ship at a flat rate of $15. Orders are dispatched from Queensland, and you'll receive tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.
If you're outside Australia, get in touch with us, we're happy to discuss international shipping options.
Can I use it with my caravan awning?
Absolutely. Both CampWall Pro and CampWall Flex are designed to work alongside caravan awnings. They can be set up to create a sheltered camp kitchen, extend your protected living area, add privacy, or block wind from the side of your awning. Because they're free-standing, there's no need to attach them directly to your caravan, giving you more flexibility in how you set up your campsite.
What are the packed dimensions?
All of our windbreaks are designed to pack down for easy transport and storage.
CampWall Flex: 90 × 15 × 15 cm
CampWall Pro (4 Panel): 100 × 18 × 18 cm
CampWall Pro (3 Panel): 100 × 17 × 17 cm
Beach Mate 80 x 12 x 12 cm
CampWall Pro is supplied with an oversized carry bag, giving you extra room for accessories or making packing away quicker without having to roll it perfectly. Both Pro and Flex can also be packed down smaller, depending on how tightly you roll them.
Are CampWall Pro and CampWall Flex fire resistant?
CampWall Pro and CampWall Flex do not carry an official fire-retardant certification, so they should not be considered fireproof.
Both materials are suitable for normal camping use around a campfire. Small embers may occasionally land on the fabric without causing it to rapidly ignite, but, like any camping fabric, prolonged exposure to flames or excessive heat may cause damage.
For safe use, we recommend positioning your windbreak at least 2 metres away from your campfire. This is generally the distance most campers would maintain anyway to allow for seating, movement, and safe fire management.
As with any camping equipment, always supervise open fires, avoid exposing the fabric to direct flames, and ensure local fire safety regulations are followed.
Can one person set it up?
Yes. Both CampWall Pro and CampWall Flex are designed to be set up by one person.
In light to moderate winds, most people will have no trouble setting them up on their own. As the wind strength increases, having a second person can make the process quicker and easier just as it would with any camping shelter.
For the easiest one person setup, peg the first panel securely before extending the remaining sections. This gives you a solid anchor point and helps keep the windbreak under control while you finish the setup.
What wind speeds has it been tested in?
During our testing, CampWall Pro has handled winds up to 60 km/h, while CampWall Flex has handled winds up to 55 km/h when correctly set up with all pegs and guy lines.
These figures are not from an official laboratory certification, but from extensive real-world testing in a range of camping conditions. Based on our experience, we're confident both products are capable of performing in winds above these figures when set up correctly. However, because every campsite is different, we don't advertise a maximum wind speed, just the wind speeds we have tested in.
Performance depends on factors such as ground conditions, peg selection, setup, wind direction, gust strength, and surrounding terrain.
For the best results, always use the supplied guy lines, choose the appropriate pegs for the ground you're camping on, and, where possible, set the wall up in an L-shape or gentle curve to help distribute wind loads and create a more stable, sheltered zone.
Won't it just act like a sail?
It's a fair question, and one we get asked a lot.
Like any windbreak, there is always some load placed on the fabric in strong winds. The difference is how that load is managed.
CampWall is designed with multiple poles, reinforced anchor points and guy lines to spread the forces across the entire structure rather than concentrating them in one place. It's also intended to be set up in shapes such as an L-shape or gentle curve, rather than as one long, flat wall. This helps reduce wind pressure and creates a more stable, protected zone.
As with any camping shelter, correct setup is essential. Using the right pegs for the ground, tensioning the guy lines properly and adapting your setup to the conditions will give the best performance.
We've spent countless hours testing CampWall in real camping conditions, including strong winds, to ensure it performs when you need it most.
