The Heart Behind Aussie Wind Wall
We’re a family of outdoor lovers who’ve spent years exploring the great outdoors together, from muddy campsites in the UK to sun-drenched beaches across beautiful Australia.
At the heart of our journey is my husband, now in his 25th year of military service, where reliability, durability, and smart design in gear aren’t optional, they’re critical. Decades of deployments, expeditions, and field time have shown him exactly what works in the real world and what doesn’t. He’s learned the hard way the difference between gear that looks good on paper and gear you can actually rely on when conditions turn tough.
Along the way, he also led expeditions in the Himalayas and qualified as a winter mountaineer, experiences that demanded absolute trust in both equipment and decision-making when environments became extreme.
A few years ago, our family adventure took an exciting new turn when he transitioned into the Australian Army. With that same disciplined mindset and love for the outdoors, we packed up and began exploring Queensland’s stunning coastline, rugged outback, and everything in between.
One piece of gear that followed us everywhere was our trusty windbreak. It quickly became our go-to solution against wind, sand, and the lack of privacy that comes with busy campsites and beaches giving us a comfortable space to relax, cook, and unwind as a family.
Time and again, fellow campers and beachgoers would stop to ask,
“Where did you get that?”
That question sparked an idea.
After extensive research, we realised there was nothing like it available in Australia, especially nothing that combined serious durability with thoughtful design and everyday comfort. Drawing on decades of experience in extreme environments and real-world outdoor use, we decided to create something better.
That’s how Aussie Wind Wall was born, designed through real-world experience, tested by our family, and built specifically for Australian conditions.
